About AMaidensPolicy.com
AMP was originally purchased in March 2007 to be my own personal sandbox for playing with html, php, and mysql. Starting in 2008 I decided to return to designing public web pages instead of just using the space to learn and never publishing anything. So, tada! This is the AMP of now. As far as the name, I just really liked the sound of it. When I decided I wanted to purchase a domain name I thought for a long time about what I wanted it to be called and finally decided on AMaidensPolicy. Luckily it was available so I purchased it.

Anime/Manga History
My first introduction to anime was Sailor Moon. It was shown on the air in my area when I was younger (11 or 12ish) and I immediately fell in love. Because of my addition to Sailor Moon I began watching other anime programs that were played on tv at the time and became hooked to anime in general. As my addition to Sailor Moon grew and I became more internet savy I learned about the manga version, which I soon purchased at a local bookstore. As if I did not enjoy the anime enough I loved the manga even more. From then on anime just could not compare to manga for me and my addition swiched almost completely to manga by the time I graduated high school. I am a college graduate now and just as much in love with manga as ever. The type of manga I read now is different than when I was younger, and I read a good deal more of it since it is more available. I expect to be a fan for quite a while to come.
My Personal Connection to Nana
The manga Nana has actually had a big impact on my life and I love it for that. I began reading the series when I was 20 years old and moving to a new place away from home and friends. Ironically, that is the same as the story in Nana! I even ended up in apartment 607. Not quite 707 but so close it's a bit freaky. My life is actually very similar to Hachi's. Moving to a new place, getting dumbed by a boyfriend you love, falling in love to easily, all of it. Other than the fact that I don't have a problem keeping a job (currently anyhow...) and I'm not quite so perky, Hachi and I are very much alike. Thinking about the manga and it's characters made me happy and gave me strength in a hard time of my life and I value that so much.
Web Design History
I created my first website using geocities page builder tool when I was about 11 years old. It was a really bad site about video games thinking back on it, but I was proud of myself then. I created my first anime/manga related website just a year or so later. It was based on Sailor Moon the anime version. Just a basic information and image site, but significantly better than my first. I continued to make sailor moon sites, upgrading my general site and creating several different character shrines including a popular one to Queen Serenity. During my high school years I became involved in the online trading card game fad. I owned two primary trading card games. One based on the manga version of Sailor Moon and another on the Final Fantasy video game series. The sailor moon one actually still exists online but has been inactive for years. From my trading card days until now I have created a few personal blogs and several different asp.net pages for work and school, but nothing anime/manga related. Until now... :)
